Award Description
To support a student enrolled in a Practical Nursing program at an Ontario College. The winner of this award will demonstrate deep care and compassion, and a commitment to working with the elderly population.
Origin
The Karim Moosa Memorial Scholarship was established through donations from his family and friends. It was awarded for the first time in 2022.
Honoree background
Karim Moosa was the youngest of four siblings. Throughout his adult life, he demonstrated deep care and spiritual compassion for everyone he came in contact with. He was particularly gentle and compassionate with the elderly. This scholarship is dedicated to the profession and cause he cared about the most – Nursing.

Karim was well-known to George Brown College, Waterfront Campus faculty and students who frequented the coffee shop stall where he worked. In his short life, he exemplified the incredibly positive impact that one person can have on so many, through the simplest acts of listening, sharing and caring. He made an impression on all who met him. We honor his legacy through this memorial scholarship.
