William Byker, RNFOO Tribute Award

William Byker is in his final year of the second-entry BScN program at the University of Toronto. He had previously completed a BSc in Biology and Pharmacology (Co-op) at McMaster University. His undergraduate thesis in pharmacologic treatment of metastatic cancers, sparked his desire to pursue oncology nursing. While studying nursing, he has conducted oncology research with Dr. Samantha Mayo in the Lawrence S. Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing, and completed a clinical rotation at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. Will intends to further his education while using his oncology background as he begins his career.
