Tierney Lunney, Dr. Joan Lesmond Memorial Scholarship

Tierney Lunney is a graduate student in her second year if the MN – Nurse Practitioner Primary Health Care-Global Health program at University of Toronto.

Her clinical experiences have provided her with opportunities to focus on diversity in nursing, with an emphasis on cultural and socioeconomic diversity. As an undergraduate student, she spent time on a Cree reserve in Moose Factory, ON, working with First Nations peoples. Through her graduate placements she has worked with Newcomers to Canada, harm reduction clinics, homeless shelters, rural and other under-serviced communities. She is currently employed as a Registered Nurse in the emergency department in Renfrew, ON. Upon graduation, she hopes to practice primary health care in remote communities.
