Shirley Tran is a psychiatric nurse pursuing her Master of Science in Nursing degree at Western University.

Shirley began her nursing career in community mental health at Canadian Mental Health Association, where she supported individuals with mental illness to live independently in the community. Shirley pursued research within this field and began working as a research assistant at the Mental Health Nursing Research Alliance at Lawson Health Research Institute, to hone and leverage her research potential, and make impactful changes in mental healthcare.

Shirley now works at the local psychiatric hospital and is completing her thesis work on mental health recovery-oriented approaches in the community.
