Michelle Lamont is a francophone PhD candidate at the University of Ottawa where she studies nurses’ abilities to engage in caring behaviors at the bedside given the impact of work environments. Michelle is an active leader within her university where she occupies seats on multiple committees as well as her Graduate Nurses Association and student union. Her goals are to: 1) increase her research knowledge in order to positively contribute to the profession by way of nursing research; 2) further develop her teaching skills with the hopes of teaching students at the undergraduate level; and 3) continue to learn how to be a leader in her community while leading with empathy and empowerment.
