Malak Matus is a fourth-year BScN student at Brock University who completed her consolidation in the Intensive Care Unit. As President of the Brock Chapter of the Canadian Nursing Students’ Association, she is passionate about the positive promotion of nursing students. She has also contributed to research focusing on leadership in the nursing curricula and culturally competent education on injury prevention for immigrant populations. She currently serves on the research advisory committee for co-designing a transition to practice course. Malak is honoured to receive this award and looks forward to continuing her contributions to the profession as a registered nurse.
