After an exceptional 20-year nursing career in hospital, community, academia, and public health settings, Julia Brandsma decided to include a Masters in Nursing Leadership at Trent University into her docket of experience.

Julia’s career and academic work has focused on supporting marginalized communities and is currently focused on the response to the opioid poisoning crisis in her community. Julia hopes to use her Masters in Nursing Leadership to advance her career towards more decision-making opportunities where she can continue to advocate for those who are underserved. Julia is grateful for the to the judges, the donors and the organizers who make this event and the scholarships available to students.
