Holly Tschirhart is in her first year of the MScN program at McMaster University. She is a Certified Diabetes Educator currently working as a clinical research nurse in Endocrinology at The Hospital for Sick Children. She is interested in examining diabetes in the contexts of mental health and the social determinants of health. Her thesis will examine the prevalence and correlates of distress and depression in women with diabetes during pregnancy. The goal is to understand the impact of mental health alterations on self-management behaviours and maternal outcomes during pregnancy.
