Fernanda Abril Figueroa Valadez is a 3rd-year bridging student in the Nursing-Post-RPN program at Ontario Tech University. Abril has spent the past two years working as a nurse in a Long-Term Care facility, advocating for her residents while pursuing her education to achieve a cardiac care certification. She is also an active member of the Nursing Student Community at Ontario Tech, serving as her cohort’s representative and advocating for students. Abril is passionate about patient advocacy and hopes to expand her clinical expertise in acute care. At the same time, pursuing advanced cardiac certifications, and eventually working toward her master’s degree and nurse practitioner diploma.
