Farha Patel, Sonia Varaschin Award

Farha Patel is a 4th year BSCN student at Ryerson University.

Farha hopes to combine her strong interests in Maternal-Child Health and community nursing in her career. Farha has participated in nursing research and aims to improve nursing environments, both in schools and clinically by presenting her collaborative research on horizontal violence at various conferences. Farha has demonstrated her leadership potential as she will be the co-chair of an executive committee for her local STTI chapter and has volunteered abroad in Guatemala where she worked to improve maternal health. Farha hopes to pursue graduate studies in the future and teach nursing education.
