Barbara Chyzzy is a third year PhD student at Lawrence S. Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing, UofT. She is also a clinical instructor at UofT and in the UNB/Humber Collaborative Bachelor of Nursing Program. Barbara teaches in the area of community nursing and child/adolescent health. Her research interests include health promotion, adolescent mental health, social support and mobile health (mHealth) interventions. For her PhD project, she is conducting a pilot randomized controlled trial to determine the feasibility of a mobile phone based peer support intervention to prevent postpartum depression among adolescent mothers.
