Bahar Ashtarieh is completing her fourth year of the BScN program at Ontario Tech University. Her goal is to work with persons living with diabetes to help them improve their health, well-being and quality of life. Her lived experience of having type one diabetes for 20 years has allowed her to build meaningful and unique connections with the community.
In addition, she is interested in working with the older adult population, specifically those living with dementia and enhancing dementia care through research. Throughout her nursing degree, Bahar has been engaged in research, leadership and community outreach projects.
