Aric Rankin is a settler Canadian and ally to Indigenous communities who lives and works in Hamilton, Ontario, the traditional territory of the Anishinaabe and Haudenosauonee peoples.
Aric is a Nurse Practitioner in Primary Health Care and works at De dwa da dehs nye>s Aboriginal Health Center in Hamilton, Ontario. Aric has worked with First Nation communities in urban and isolated fly-in settings for over 17 years. Additionally, Aric has volunteered with other communities around the world including Haiti, Lesotho, Fiji, and Australia.
Aric’s experiences working with resilient and vibrant communities who experience disproportionate health disparities and historical injustices has driven his interest to pursue doctoral research at McMaster University with a focus on health equity and Indigenous health.
