Annita Velasque Moreira is completing her third year in the Collaborative BScN program at Ryerson University.

She has served as a student leader with the Nursing Course Union and Canadian Nursing Students Association, and continues to take on leadership roles within the School of Nursing. Her passion for community health and research is taking her to Brazil this summer, where she will study children and caregivers’ oral health care practices. An involved volunteer, she has supported patients in different settings, from maternal-child health to palliative care. After graduating, Annita hopes to pursue graduate studies and to work in women’s health.
