Alessia Lamanna is a second-entry nursing student at York University and previously completed her first degree in Psychology.
She is employed as a Research Assistant in Oncology Nursing at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and as an Assistant to the Director of Care at a nursing home. Additionally, she is also involved on numerous research projects in best practice, Métis health, and examining the impact of COVID-19 on the elderly. She has extensive experience in caring for older adults, advocating for their quality of life, and loves developing strong therapeutic relationships with all older adults in her care. Her goal is to answer important clinical questions throughout her nursing career, bridge the gap between best-practice and bed-side nursing, and become an advocate for both patients and fellow nurses.
