Alana Devereaux received her BN from Memorial University of Newfoundland in 2008. Since then, she has been in Ontario pursuing her graduate education. Upon the school’s recommendation, Alana was fast- tracked into a PhD program to research nurses’ experiences in an effort to improve public health emergency planning and front-line nursing working conditions. Alana’s first love is primary care and she believes we cannot separate academia from clinical practice. She hopes to teach, research, and maintain her staff RN role.
