Cheryl Osawabine-Peltier is currently in her first year of the Practical Nursing program through Sault College.
Cheryl previously worked in a long-term care facility for nine years. During her tenure, Cheryl encouraged and supported all staff to be creative and think of ways to enhance the lives of the residents. This resulted in having activities such as deer hunts, casino nights, slip n slides, water gun fights, beer bong, etc. This out-of-the-box thinking garnered global attention about the way a long-term care facility was paving the way in which all homes should be run.
Upon graduation, Cheryl intends to return to long-term care and continue to provide care that focuses on the resident’s quality of life.
