Creative Strategies for Nursing Knowledge Transfer in Northern Communities
The innovators will deliver an online one-stop shop for procedural-based nursing skills simulation station information. Nurse educators will be provided with tools for assessing needs, evaluating the impact of their hands-on educational initiatives, while being able to build/procure required procedural task trainers and equipment in a cost-effective manner.
Geared to northern nursing conditions, the team will build an open-access professional website to implement and evaluate low-resource procedural skills simulations for staff nurses and nurse educators regardless of previous simulation experience. Embedded demo videos will be created for self-guided deliberate practice and will aid nurse educators in their educational initiatives.
The goal is to engage more Northern and rural nurses/ nurse educators to determine gaps in knowledge and seek, find and share knowledge for continuing education and skills development.
