Shirin Vellani is a Nurse Practitioner with experience working in a variety of specialized geriatric services programs. She is a second-year student in a collaborative PhD program in Nursing Science and Aging, Palliative, and Supportive Care at the University of Toronto.

She is exploring the integration of a palliative approach in the care of older adults with dementia in primary care settings. Particularly, she plans to implement a tailored advance care planning intervention in persons with early stages of dementia. Shirin is immensely grateful to RNFOO for supporting her during her PhD journey.
