Sahana Kesavarajah is in her final year of the UofT 2nd level entry BScN program.
She works as a Clinical Extern at SickkKids in pediatric medicine, and was a member of the Toronto’s Youth Health Action Network which advocates for healthy public policy. Based on her family’s experience of the health care system as newcomers to Canada, and her undergraduate thesis on refugee health care, Sahana was inspired to learn more about the social determinants of health and health equity. Through volunteer roles she has worked with marginalized groups and looks forward to improving the overall health and wellbeing of the diverse population of Toronto through a career in community and public health nursing.
