Danielle Bourque is an Indigenous MScN Student from Beaver Lake Cree Nation in Treaty 6 territory.
Her thesis research will directly inform the ongoing integration of Indigenous cultural safety in nursing curriculum, fostering purposeful consideration of ways in which nursing education can address the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Calls to Action. Danielle is also a graduate research assistant for a CIHR catalysts grant, mentored by Dr. Bernice Downey, which looks at Indigenous perspectives of heart health, and the Education Chair on the CINA board of directors, where her passion is to improve the health of Indigenous Peoples by supporting Indigenous Nurses, and by promoting the development and practice of Indigenous Health Nursing.
