Laura is a Registered Nurse who is committed to improving the nursing profession. In addition to her work in critical care, she is an undergraduate nursing instructor, a research assistant, and a doctoral student. She is enrolled in the Doctorate in Philosophy Nursing program at the University of Ottawa. Laura is especially interested in the transition-to-practice period, supporting new graduates as they experience what can be the most stressful period of their careers. By exploring this topic through her PhD research, Laura hopes to make a positive impact on the experience of Canadian new graduate nurses and, subsequently, the Canadian nursing workforce as a whole.
