Hamed Karagahi is a first-year student in the Accelerated BScN program at University of Toronto. He is currently working as a Clinical Extern at CAMH as well as an Overdose Prevention Worker at Parkdale Queen West Community Health Centre. He is passionate about harm reduction, policy, and community-based solutions to creating a more equitable healthcare system. As a Kurdish immigrant from Iran, his approach to nursing practice is shaped by a human-rights and anti-oppressive lens which strives to create empowering care experiences for the marginalized communities whom he works with.
