To provide an opportunity to a Registered Nurse who wishes to undertake a research project related to perinatal nursing.

Provincial Nurse Educators Interest Group (PNEIG) Research Award

To provide an opportunity to a Registered Nurse who is pursuing education at the Graduate or Doctoral level related to nursing education in an academic or clinic setting. Applicants must be members of PNEIG.

Miriam Bracken Award

To provide an opportunity to a Registered Nurse who wishes to pursue further education in perioperative nursing. Applicants may be in a CNA Perioperative Nursing Certificate program, post-graduate Operating Room Nursing program, or a post-basic baccalaureate nursing program. Membership in RNAO and the Operating Room Nurses’ Association of Canada is required.

Elsevier Canada Book Award

To provide an opportunity to an undergraduate student who has successfully completed at least one year of a nursing program and demonstrates high academic standing and commitment to the profession.

Jennifer Award 

To provide opportunities to 3rd or 4th year baccalaureate nursing students to complete their baccalaureate degree. Applicants must demonstrate outstanding potential and contribution to the fields of child and family, oncological or mental health nursing.

The donnerwheeler Nursing Career Scholarship

To provide an opportunity to a final year baccalaureate nursing student with high academic standing who is an active participant in community and professional activities. This $5,000 scholarship is made possible through the generous sponsorship of Gail Donner and Mary Wheeler.

The Betty Petrich Scholarship

To provide an opportunity for a student in the basic baccalaureate nursing program. Preference will be given to mature students whose interest is to pursue a career in geriatric nursing.

The RNFOO Undergraduate Scholarship

To provide opportunities to 1st or 2nd year baccalaureate nursing students with assistance to complete their degree. Applicants must demonstrate high academic standing and outstanding potential in their chosen career.

Regina Borowska Scholarship

To provide an opportunity to a Registered Nurse who wishes to pursue education at the baccalaureate level. Preference will be given to those applicants whose professional career goals enable the recipient to contribute to the advancement of nursing.

Dorothy Ferguson Scholarship

To provide an opportunity to a Registered Nurse who wishes to pursue a baccalaureate degree in nursing with an interest in nursing administration/leadership. Preference will be given to full-time students.

RNFOO Gala Scholarship

To provide an opportunity to a Registered Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse who wishes to pursue education at the baccalaureate level. Applicants must demonstrate how their nursing practice benefits the health of Toronto residents.

To provide an opportunity to a Registered Nurse who wishes to pursue education at the graduate level related to the practice of gerontology or nursing education. Preference will be given to those applicants whose professional career goals enable the recipient to contribute to the advancement of nursing.

Kathleen Howe Mitchell Scholarship

To provide an opportunity to a Registered Nurse who wishes to pursue education at the graduate level related to the practice of mental health/psychiatric or gerontological nursing. Applicants must demonstrate excellence in nursing relevant to psychiatry, mental health or gerontology.

B. Eileen Kirkpatrick Memorial Scholarship

To provide an opportunity to a Registered Nurse who is studying at the master’s or doctoral level in the field of Mental Health/Psychiatric Nursing. Applicants must be members of the RNAO Mental Health Nursing Interest Group (MHNIG)

To provide opportunities to Registered Nurses who wish to pursue further education at the graduate level. Preference will be given to full-time graduate students.

Ernie "Aieh" Jacobs Memorial Award – Diabetes Nursing Interest Group (DNIG)

To provide an opportunity to a Registered Nurse who wishes to pursue diverse continuing education in the area of diabetes education and care specific to Type 2 diabetes in the Aboriginal population. The applicant must have demonstrated a significant commitment to diabetes education and care in the Aboriginal population and be currently practicing in an Aboriginal community. This $2,000 annual award is made possible through the generous sponsorship of Smith and Nephew.

Childbirth Nurses Interest Group Scholarship

To provide an opportunity to a Registered Nurse who wishes to pursue further education at the baccalaureate level. The applicant must be undertaking elective study, consolidation experience or a research project in parent/child, perinatal, neonatal or obstetrical nursing within the hospital or community. Applicants must be members of CNIG.

To provide an opportunity to a Registered Nurse who wishes to pursue education at the graduate level, whose research focus is diabetes education and care for persons with Type 1 diabetes, and who has demonstrated a significant commitment to the cause of diabetes. Applicants must be members of the DNIG. This $1,000 annual award is made possible through the generous sponsorship of the Murphy/Myers family.

To provide an opportunity to a Registered Nurse who wishes to pursue education at the graduate level and has demonstrated significant interest in diabetes research, education, and care and is currently practising in the field. Dr. Hildegarde E. Peplau Award – Mental Health Nursing Interest Group (MHNIG)

To provide an opportunity to a Registered Nurse who wishes to pursue education at the master’s or doctoral level in psychiatric/mental health nursing. Preference will be given to those whose focus of study includes an interpersonal perspective in nurse-client, family, peer or community relationships. Preference will be given to members of the MHNIG.

Julie Hall Scholarship for Neuroscience Nursing

To provide an opportunity to a Registered Nurse who wishes to pursue education at the baccalaureate, masters or doctoral level with an interest in any aspect of the broad specialty of neuroscience nursing. Applicants may be involved in any area of neuroscience across the lifespan and the continuum of care. Applicants must demonstrate excellence in neuroscience nursing and indicate how they contribute to the advancement of clinical practice, education, or research within this specialty.

Ontario Association of Rehabilitation Nurses Award (OARN)

To provide an opportunity to a Registered Nurse who wishes to pursue further study in the field of rehabilitation nursing. Applicants may be in a specialty certificate program, baccalaureate or master’s degree level of study. Preference will be given to those whose focus of study demonstrates a positive impact on the promotion and development of rehabilitation nursing. Applicants must be members of the OARN.

Ontario Nursing Informatics Group  (ONIG) Scholarship

To provide opportunities to Registered Nurses who wish to pursue further education in informatics at the undergraduate or graduate level. Preference will be given to members of the ONIG.

The Evelyn Cameron Memorial Bursary

To provide opportunities to Registered Nurses who wish to pursue education at the undergraduate or graduate level with a focus on pediatric nursing. Applicants must be members of PedNIG and must demonstrate commitment to advancing the practice of pediatric nursing in Ontario.

The Saint Elizabeth Health Care Community Nursing Scholarship

To provide an opportunity to a Registered Nurse who wishes to pursue education at the baccalaureate or graduate level in order to pursue a career in the field of Community Nursing. Preference will be given to nurses studying at the baccalaureate level.
